Rest and Restore: Guided Meditations and Relaxation Exercises for Stress Relief, Mindfulness, and Peaceful Sleep is a collection of my most relaxing meditation and relaxation exercises. It includes a mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, progressive muscle relaxation exercise, relaxing imagery exercise, and a five minute meditation for when time is short. Rest and Restore allows you to take a break from the outside world, rest, restore, and rejuvenate. I created this collection to help my patients relieve stress, sleep more soundly, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, build mindfulness, and achieve a greater overall sense of well-being. I hope that it brings these benefits to you!
Rest and Restore is available on iTunes and Google Play for digital audio, and at Amazon.com as a digital download or hard-copy CD. Enjoy!
The Present and Peaceful app begins with an introduction, in which I describe the benefits of regular meditation. I then provide three meditations: a mindfulness meditation, which focuses on relaxing the body and attending to the breath; a walking meditation that allows you to meditate while enjoying the experience of movement (perfect for those who struggle with "sitting still"); and a five-minute meditation, a brief, centering meditation that is perfect when time is short. Each meditation allows you to take a break from the outside world, turn your focus within, and emerge feeling more relaxed and present.
The Rest and Restore app begins with an introduction, in which I share the benefits of regular conscious relaxation. This is followed by a progressive muscle relaxation exercise, in which you slowly tense and release the major muscle groups of the body, bringing deep relaxation to both body and mind. Next, Rest and Restore offers a guided imagery exercise that takes you on a deeply relaxing journey to the beach. Rest and Restore concludes with a five-minute restoration exercise, a calming and rejuvenating exercise that you can use when short on time. These exercises allow you to take a break from your responsibilities and deeply relax the mind, body and spirit.
